The Situation
The Colorado Cherry Company began with one adventurous family and one perfect cherry pie almost 100 years ago. Business has been booming ever since, but kitchen size limited what they could bake and the cherry-focused name didn’t communicate the power of their pies.
The Strategy
Together we evolved the brand so it can expand beyond holiday treats to sweet and savory pies of all sizes across occasions. With a rich history of recipes that have been mastered and remastered for four generations, we confirmed a new name, brand strategy and experience across Product (menu), People (service), Place (in-store and online) and Promotions.
In collaboration with Wytt Creative, we reimagined the brand identity and store experience to prepare for national expansion. We also conducted quick quant research to confirm the unprecedented appeal of the concept across the US, and the menu to ensure interest and reach across flavors, forms, sizes and price points across primary sweet and savory occasions.
The Success
Legacy Pie Co. is expanding in Denver, Colorado as a brand that believes the best things in life shouldn’t be saved just for the holidays or every once in a while. Now more than ever, every day is for pie! Firmly rooted in the legacy that began in 1929, the freshly-baked menu reflects traditional flavors like their famous cherry and pot pies alongside new tastes too.
Today Legacy Pie Co. invites customers to “buy their slice of the pie” by investing in new stores in exchange for pie points and VIP perks like voting for the next, favorite flavors.The pie-oneering pie shop has been big news in Denver and was recently named “Best of Denver” for pie lovers.
